Sweden, Cologne, NAS & Birthday Cheer

1st until 5th of Nov 2025

Wed 5 Nov 2025, 8:03:46 pm CET Here we are again, another daily post. A couple of days past since the last post, yet it feels like ages. Life has been busy, as always, but I am managing to keep up with everything after coming back from my trip to Sweden. It's like there was no time to reflect, just straight back into the grind. Anyway, there are a couple of things I look forward to with my family. This weekend we look forward to a nice surprise from J and K, namely a trip to cologne for the weekend. It will be great to get away for a bit and explore the city together.

Today it's the birthday of my older brother J. (I will not mention that he is turning 57). We had a nice conversation today, as a continuos of the nice talks we had during my visit to Sweden.

What else is new? I am probably forgetting something, but what comes to my mind is the latest purchase (ordering) of my new NAS server. After years of having my eyes on possible solutions, I finally settled for the TERRAMASTER F2-425 2-Bay NAS storage. It was supposed to arrive already today, but I am still waiting for it. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. I have big plans for it, and I will share more about it once I have set it up and started using it. For now, I am just excited to get my hands on it and start exploring its capabilities. I especially fell for the price and the features it offers compared to other similar solutions on the market.

That said, I think that is all for now. We have had a very cosy evening with nice food and what seems to be a great series - a re-make of Astrid Lindgren's "Vi på Saltkråkan". Time to get some rest now.

Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day. Wed 5 Nov 2025, 8:03:46 pm CET Did you know that today in 1834 is when the Free University of Brussels Read more about it on Wikipedia. is founded by Pierre-Théodore Verhaegen.
