Mom's Milestone & Masonic Journey

6th until 11th of Jan 2025

Sat 11 Jan 2025, 6:55:16 pm CET Today is the birthday of my mom (I will not say that she turned 80 today). We sang for her and then we talked for a while. The obvious topic of the day way discussing how fast time goes. It is crazy if I think back and contemplates of time. I mean, I have a vivid memory when dad was 40 (bought his motorcycle). At the time we had just moved and I thought he was old. I was 40 over 10 years ago... the funniest thing is that the perspective of time changes with time. Anyway, hurray for my mom, the best mom anyone can ever dream of to have!

It was an interesting week, the first complete work week after the Christmas and new year celebrations holiday. It was a hectic time for all of us at school, work and private. Personally I did all sorts of small projects and I also had one thing, an appointment last Thursday, to do that affected the whole family.

We had three gentlemen (a lawyer, a colonel in the air-force and a professor in languages) coming over to interview me, as the tradition is in the selection process of becoming a freemasonryry. There are many steps and it takes at least one year. If I passed this one I will have the next test, one of the last ones, coming up in May. It was a very interesting experience and I actually enjoyed it a lot. It was very intimidating at first, but soon enough I discovered who they really were and we enjoyed each others company and discussions. I had my concerns the days leading up to it about if I could even do it in Dutch - it all had to be in Dutch. But I think it went pretty well. I feel rather relaxed about it, if it is not, it's just not meant to be. I am certainly not desperate or have the feeling that I need to join. Let's see how it pans out...

I think that will be it for today. We have enjoyed the fantastic series called Number 24 See this one, I can really reccomend it!, a fantastic Norwegian production on Netflix. I recommend it highly!

Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day. Sat 11 Jan 2025, 6:55:16 pm CET Did you know that today in 1569 is when the first recorded lottery Read more about it on Wikipedia. in England took place.
