23rd of Aug 2025 Sat 23 Aug 2025, 8:32:36 pm CET I dive right in with today's post. Just the smallest of updates - the images that I mentioned in yesterdays post are here now. Enjoy! One of the 3D prints that I made recently, it's a vase consisting of two parts - the stand and the water container. The stand is a rather straight forward object in PLA but it needs support on one specific area which is an overhang. The water container is printed in PETG and has a more complex as the shape is relatively narrow and tall and needs to be printed with a brim to ensure good bed adhesion. It was a quick little project and since I could utilise two machines in parallel - the Bambulab A1 mini ( here in action Here it is busy printing. You can see that the initial layer of the support structure was already printed in the initial layer.) and Qidi Tech Q1 Pro, the total print time was just over 1 hour for both. One of my long-running projects is tobacco cultivation. I started this project in March and have been closely following the progress. The drying process is quite simple - the leaves are hung up in a well-ventilated area and left to dry for several weeks. This image You can see how they are hung up to dry. The three pairs from left are the very first premature tryouts, just some leaves I found. I decided to hang them to dry, more as a trying out the concept. The other four pairs I consider to be my first real first test... shows how the very first leaves are hung to dry. The drying process will take at least 6-8 weeks, depending on a lot of factors. Once the leaves are dry, they are removed and stored in a cool, dry place until they are ready to be used. Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day.
