Site Overhaul: Multilingual, Hugo framework, and new article

22nd until 28th of Apr 2026

Tue 28 Apr 2026, 7:13:57 pm CET OK, here is an update coming your way in the middle (at least that is what it feels like). Even though a lot happened the last couple of days, I will try to keep it short and sweet. I have been busy with work and a lot on the private side (with J. returning from the Thailand trip, news within the extended family and 3D printing projects etc.) as well, I just thought of doing a quick update here about specifics. Anways, that will all come later on...

I wanted to just quickly mention that there's been a lot of work done in the background on the site, a complete new multilingual approach has been implemented. Some of the posts were translated to Swedish - not just the Google site translation (which will continue as before during the transition), but each page explicitly translated by me.

Another big update was - due to the multilingual page solution - the menu logic. The menu on top of the page (on the right side) was completely reworked. Now it is utilising the Hugo framework and completely configured in the site configuration file (the TOML configuration file - if you know, you know). I love the Hugo framework, what a powerful framework and I think it must be the best, most rigid and most flexible static site generator out there.

Another nice little update is that I have written an article, in the article section of this site. Finally I have released something there and I am rather happy about it. It is an technical article about how to create a business card and save it to the Apple Wallet app. It is strange, because I have actually done much more technical work with greater complexity and more interesting projects, but this was the easiest to write at the moment. The "lowest hanging fruit", as they say...

Now I just have to work on the translations of the articles and the posts, but that is for later on. Same goes for the rest of the updates, I will write about them in more detail later on. I just wanted to give you a quick update on what is going on with the site in the background.

Yesterday was a masonic evening, first we had since the Easter break. It was a great event, great to see everyone again. It was a very late evening, only back in the early morning hours, but it was worth it. With that, I will end this update for now.

Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day. Tue 28 Apr 2026, 7:13:57 pm CET Did you know that today in 1503 is when The Battle of Cerignola Read more about it on Wikipedia. is fought. It is noted as one of the first European battles in history won by small arms fire using gunpowder.
