27th and 28th of Jun 2025 Sat 28 Jun 2025, 8:01:48 pm CET OK, I am back starting with the continuing of the last post as I promised. I ended the post when we enjoyed a great evening after a great visit to the fantastic restaurant Il Divino di Milano ( here read about it here) and let's now continue there, last Saturday evening when driving home from the restaurant. Completely sporadic we decided to take a walk in one of the parks where we live, which was a great idea as it was a warm and sunny evening. We walked through the park, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings. It was a perfect way to end the day after a delicious meal. On Sunday, we went to the city of Brussels to visit our dear friends S and S. It was wonderful to see them again, as well as their new apartment, which they had spent a lot of time on to make it just the way they wanted. After a fabulous lunch - S is not only a handyman, but also a great cook. We arrived back home again in the evening and spent a nice Sunday evening together, relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Monday and Tuesday - I am only talking about 16th and 17th of June - started out as a normal week. On Monday was the last masonic event before the break and then some personal admin stuff, like finally getting the summer tires fitted on my car, which I had been postponing for a long time. I was happy that I finally had the appointment on Tuesday morning. Later in the evening J and K were leaving for Bilbao on a few days city-trip. Another interesting thing that has started is that my car lease is ending in a few months, so I have started the process of ordering a new car. I also made some nice progress on two of my projects at work: I managed to finish one after two weeks of the hypercare phase. The other project is gaining traction and receiving serious attention. Interesting things are happening at work, which is always a good thing. It was a good way to end the week. Today, J and K arrived back from their trip to Bilbao. It was a nice trip, albeit with an unexpected detour to Barcelona due to a thunderstorm. However, they eventually reached their destination after an eight-hour bus ride across the country. They had a great time exploring the city and enjoying the local cuisine. It was lovely to hear about their adventures and to see the photos they took. We briefly attended a friend's daughter's birthday party today. It was a little bit of a hassle to get everything fit into the schedule - J and K arriving, picking them up from the train station and then head back out again which left us with hardly any time to catch up with them. They - J and K that is - already left again to go to Antwerp with a friend. They must be tired since they have been on foot since 5 o'clock this morning, but they are young and full of energy. I am sure they will have a great time in Antwerp catching up with their friend. But now the parents have to go to bed. Tomorrow awaits a new day with a visit to Brussels on the schedule - Overijse, to be precise. We will visit some old colleagues and friends which we are looking forward to. Did you know that..? I try to find an interesting historical event that occurred on this day.
